“I commissioned my first pet portrait with Maggie in 2012, not knowing that I would soon become an avid collector. Maggie captures my pets’ personalities on the canvas – some are serious and she shows that. Some are mischievous – and there they are with a glint in their eye! She has painted our dogs, cats, horses, a donkey, and even a couple of chickens and a rooster!
One of my favorite paintings is of two of my dogs, but it’s so much more than that. Maggie took the time to create a 24″ x 36″ paper painting for me of two of my little guys, but what’s so special is that she used cards and letters that my mom, who has passed away, had written to create the painting. Instead of my mom’s writing being stored away in a box in the closet staying “safe”, I now see her words every day in the painting. It is one of my very favorite things in this world.
In the past few years, I have also started collecting Maggie’s fluid pours of the ocean. What’s unique about her pours is that she “finds” images in the pours as they dry. When I look at a poured painting, I see a beautiful swirl of color. When Maggie looks at the pour, she sees horses and people and swimmers – it is truly amazing to see.
